Resto Review # 1

Since our family dines out at least six times a month, I’ve decided to share my thoughts about the food and ambience of some of the restaurants we go to. I really should have started this one long ago! Oh well. I’ll try to post reviews every once in a while, but don’t expect too much because I’m quite a busybody.

Anyway, I hope you’ll find my posts useful.

I’ve classified prices into five:
(1) P150 and below
(2) Above P150 to P300
(3) Above P300 to P550
(4) Above P550 to P900
(5) Above P900
*price/head.

Note however, though, that the price classifications I’ll make will be based on our receipt. I’m not going to the extent of researching the average per capita cost. Hahahaha. Anyway, we tend to over-order most of the time so the price could probably be lower if you don’t really order much. For your convenience, too, I’ll try to take pictures of the actual menu so you could check out the prices but when I fail to do that, you’ll just have to rely on my classification. Kk? J

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

First in line: SERYE
Price classification: 3
Cuisine Type: Filipino

I think they have other branches, though I failed to check on that. The only branch we go to is the one at Festival Supermall in Alabang. Oh, I think there’s one somewhere in or around QC Circle. I’ve heard it’s a sister company of Aristocrat.

Their Boneless Crispy Pata is my superrr all-time favorite! You really got to try it!!! It’s best if you order a Sinigang na Tiyan ng Bangus sa Sampaloc, too, to go with the crispy pata. For dessert, they offer both Western sweets and Filipino delicacies like Suman sa Latik, Turon w/ ice cream, etc. The Kare-Kare is rich in flavor, too. Their barbecue tastes just like that of Aristocrat’s.

This is my brother not liking his vinaigrette salad. But well oh well, since culinary school, he's been super kaduper meticulous anyway. As for me, i've never been fond of anything with vinegar, anyway.

They have their own Iced Tea blend. Yes, you’ll be saved from the generic Lipton and Nestea here :) And what I love about their iced tea is the distinct flavor. A hint of vanilla, perhaps? I’m not really sure. But it’s good and I love the froth :)

Service is good, too. Unlike in other restaurants where you have to wait for so long for your food, they deliver quite quickly.

Then again, aside from the boneless crispy pata which is my personal fave, most of the other dishes don’t really stand out. Like, yeah, they’re delicious, but nothing too special. In any case, this is still a good place to go to with your family :)
